Five years on, and over 100 articles later… we are on an exciting new path. One that ‘stems’ from the original model but you could say we are ‘branching out’ a little…

This spring, The Flower Press will publish its first book.

While things are changing a little, we are keeping the name. It’s relevant on many fronts…

The flower, in its most simplest form, is a pure expression of natural beauty.

To witness that is to witness an intelligence, a life-force energy that links you to where ideas come from.

To press a flower is to preserve, to appreciate and prolong its life.

In fact, flower pressing was often done with books…

The Flower Press – a small publisher of beautiful things and big ideas.

As a small publisher The Flower Press will seek out stories and ideas that ask us to pause, appreciate, change.

We will write, research and invite work that honours the natural world and makes our shared planet a better place.

And now for a floral interlude followed by some more puns…

Our roots are in flowers and gardens, but we plan to publish on a range of topics that ‘stem’ from this, and ‘cultivate’ ideas that may find it hard to be published in the mainstream channels.

We will continue to post articles, review books and interview people doing wonderful things. We will produce sustainable stationery products in our Atelier.  Oh and our books will be small print runs, printed here on Australian home soil, using the most sustainable of paper products.

And we cannot wait to reveal more about the BOOK.
